House on the Rock, Lagos will be holding a special Online Sunday Service on Sunday, 22nd March, 2020 by 9am via the Church website, Facebook and YouTube. As announced, the Church Sunday services will be as follows, “6:30am service will be live on Mixlr and will now start at 6:45am and we will also try to make it available on Instagram live from 7:00am, The 8:00am and 10:30am services will be on all our social media platforms, website, Youtube Channel (the Covenant Nation) and via the app”.
Pastor Poju Oyemade, the Lead Pastor of the Covenant Nation also announced the modification in the church service, which ‘after much consideration, prayer and thought’ had to ‘design a system that will not only be sustainable but will also cater directly to the needs of the people and keep us connected’. Service will be online till further notice” The Reverend Sam Adeyemi-led Daystar Christian Centre also in compliance with the directive of the Lagos State Government to restrict public gatherings for religious activities over the Covid-19 pandemic released a circular with the summary reading, “Following the directive of Lagos State Government to restrict public gatherings of religious activities, from Saturday 21st, we will not hold physical service in any of our locations. The memo titled, “Slight alteration in the mode of service for parishes in Lagos and Ogun States” also read, “All centres are requested to connect to Dove Television to join the live broadcast from the General Overseer during the period”. The memo dated March 18th, 2020 outlined some changes like, “Parishes that have average attendance above 50 members are directed to make use of their House Fellowship centres to run simultaneous services with the main church”.
Odesola released a memo revealing new guidelines for Sunday worship in the two affected states. Leading in this light is the Redeemed Christian Church of God, who through Assistant General Oversser (Admin and Personnel), Pastor J.F. In response to the directive of Lagos and Ogun States for religious gatherings not to exceed 50 worshippers, churches affected are making temporary modifications to their church services and gatherings.
